OpenAI teamsup with Apple: Exciting Features coming in IOS 18

At its Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) today, Apple revealed iOS 18, the next version of its iPhone operating system set to launch this fall. What caught everyone's attention, though, was Apple teaming up with OpenAI. Together, they're bringing advanced artificial intelligence to iOS 18. This partnership means that Siri and other features on iPhones could get a lot smarter, changing how people use their Apple devices in exciting new ways.

"Apple Intelligence will indeed delight its users in small but meaningful ways”

Writing Tools:

In iOS 18, Apple introduces powerful writing tools available across all apps, enabling rewriting with multiple versions, proofreading, and summarizing text smoothly. These tools offer automatic suggestions and corrections as you write.

It can even summarize phone calls and audio recordings. You can record, transcribe and summarize phone calls with Apple Intelligence. For example, you can record phone calls and have Apple Intelligence give you a summary afterward. Also, if you record audio in the Notes app, it can summarize that too.

Moreover, Apple Intelligence is rolling out Smart reply suggestions in the Mail app, users will receive response suggestions based on the content of an email. Apple's new Smart reply feature in the Mail app uses technology to understand emails and suggest good responses.

It saves time by offering personalized replies that match how you write. This happens on your device, keeping your information private and secure. It works smoothly across iPhones, iPads, and Macs, making it easier to manage emails wherever you are.

Focused Email Prioritization:

While monitoring your incoming mails and notifications, Apple Intelligence prioritizes important emails at the top of your inbox. This includes the new Reduce Interruptions Focus mode, which utilizes Apple Intelligence to display only high-priority messages that require your immediate attention.

This feature helps streamline your focus by minimizing distractions, ensuring you stay informed about critical updates without unnecessary interruptions. This cohesive integration enhances productivity and user experience across Apple devices, making writing and email management more intuitive and efficient.

Image Playground:

Apple's new Image Playground app, integrated with Apple Intelligence allows you to create images  by offering personalized prompts based on user context. You can either generate images from the suggested categories or by entering your own prompt.

In the iOS 18 beta, users have access to various styles for customizing images, enhancing creative possibilities directly on your device. It allows users to create fun, playful images in apps like Messages, Notes, Keynote, Pages and more.

Genmoji:

In the upcoming update of IOS, Apple takes emoji personalization to the next level with its feature of Genmoji. IOS 18 includes an exciting feature of text-to-image emojis. On typing a description, an emoji will appear on your screen depending on the context provided.

For example, type "emoji listening to music" and see a smiley wearing headphones emoji pop up. Genmoji in iOS 18 creates emojis that match your descriptions, making your messages more visual and fun to share.

AI-Eraser:

IOS 18 introduces a new tool from Apple called the AI eraser. This handy feature lets you easily delete unwanted objects and people from your photos. It uses advanced technology to make editing pictures simpler.

With just a few taps on your iPhone or iPad, you can quickly refine your photos, making them look better before you share or save them. This shows how Apple is always adding helpful features to make using their devices more enjoyable and creative.

ChatGPT joins Siri in iOS 18:

Apple's rumored team-up with OpenAI is a big step forward in bringing artificial intelligence into everyday tech. If it happens, iOS 18 users might get ChatGPT through Siri, Apple's smart assistant.

“We’re excited to partner with Apple to bring ChatGPT to their users in a new way,”

OpenAI CEO Sam Altman said in a statement.

In iOS 18, Siri now works with ChatGPT. You can ask Siri for meal ideas using ingredients from your garden, and Siri will pass your question to ChatGPT if you allow it. This also applies to questions with photos or about your documents. Apple has integrated ChatGPT into tools like Writing Tools, so you can create content and ask ChatGPT for suggestions or revisions.

Apple, known for its steadfast commitment to privacy, is enhancing ChatGPT's security by obscuring your IP address when accessed through Apple Intelligence and so OpenAI won't keep a record of what you ask when you use ChatGPT through Apple Intelligence.

But in all other cases, like accessing ChatGPT directly or through other platforms, ChatGPT will still save your interactions as per its usual data-use policies.

Call recording without Third-party app:

Apple has introduced a phone call recording feature without any third-party app with iOS 18. During calls, users can tap a Record button on-screen to start recording, with both parties notified. Recordings are stored in the Notes app, where AI transcribes them and offers summaries of key points. With this feature of call recording, Apple intelligence will allow its users to keep track of the key details and stay organized. It shows how Apple keeps adding features to make things simpler for users

Devices Supporting IOS18:

Apple users with iPhone SE, XR, XS Max, or any later models will be able to enjoy the exciting features coming to iOS 18. These features are designed to make your  iphone work better and be more secure. Users with older models will not be able to upgrade to iOS 18. This means that while newer iPhone users can enjoy the benefits of the latest iOS version, those with devices older than iPhone SE will need to continue using iOS versions compatible with their hardware.

Conclusion:

The collaboration between OpenAI and Apple marks a new era of technological advancement. Upcoming features in iOS 18 are sure to impress, as Apple introduces several features that were previously exclusive to Android users. Now, Apple users can enjoy them too. From advanced AI-driven features to enhanced security measures, this partnership promises to redefine the capabilities of our devices. As we look forward to  the release of iOS 18, it's clear that this update will set a new benchmark in mobile technology. Stay tuned for more updates and make sure to upgrade your devices to experience these groundbreaking features firsthand. Embrace the future of technology with OpenAI and Apple – your digital life is about to get a whole lot smarter and more exciting.
